Hi everyone. I’d like to give some advice to those traveling to Japan for the first time: don’t count on free Wi-Fi in cafes—it’ll just disappoint you. It’s better to think about a stable internet connection in advance. I used Pocket Wifi in Japan from Mobal and was very pleased: I had no problem looking up directions, using the translator, and posting photos to social media right there on the spot. The device is lightweight and fits in a backpack pocket. The battery lasted for a whole day of exploring.
